  • Can Oxford English Camps accommodate my dietary requests
    To accommodate any dietary needs, please inform us a minimum of 60 days before your program begins. This advance notice allows us to make necessary arrangements to cater to your specific requirements. Vegetarian meal options are available for all meals but need to be pre-booked. While we may not always offer special Kosher or Halal food, students with these dietary preferences can usually be accommodated with the vegetarian option if notified in advance of specific food restrictions. For medical-related dietary concerns, such as lactose intolerance or food allergies, please communicate these details at least 60 days before your program starts. This information should be provided through the Medical and Dietary Form, a mandatory submission for all enrolled students. Access to the Medical Form will be available to enrolled students.
  • Are meals included in the programme fees?
    Breakfast, dinner and lunch are included in all of the programme fees for students.
  • What kind of clothing should I bring?
    Students who have secured a spot in a program will receive a Welcome Pack as the summer approaches. This pack will provide details on recommended clothing and a comprehensive list of packing suggestions. During June, July, and August, the weather in the UK is typically warm, but occasional heavy rain is possible even in the summer months. It's advisable to include both warm clothing and waterproof attire in your packing. For the latest weather updates and forecasts, refer to online sources like BBC Weather.
  • What happens in the case of an accident or an emergency?
    All of Oxford English Camps’ campuses are staffed 24 hours a day, providing on-site assistance at all times. Each campus is equipped with a dedicated 24-hour emergency phone number, available for students to call in case of urgent situations. In emergencies, family and friends can reach out to the campus office for assistance. Students will receive these contact numbers via email before their program date and can also find them on our website throughout the summer. Students under the age of 18 must provide contact details for one parent or guardian. Additionally, if the designated parent or guardian is expected to be unavailable during the program dates, students are requested to provide an alternate Emergency Contact. It is essential for students to ensure that all contact details are up-to-date to ensure accurate information in case of an emergency.
  • Will I have the opportunity to visit other locations in the U.K during my stay?
    Yes. We think it is a great opportunity to visit other locations in the U.K. Some locations include. But, are not limited to Bath, Bristol, London and The Cotswolds.
  • Should I bring a mobile phone?
    Students are encouraged to bring their mobile phones, ensuring compatibility with UK networks, for convenient communication with family, friends, and program staff. Please be aware that the use of mobile phones is not allowed during classes. Additionally, we advise students to disable Data Roaming on their phones to prevent unexpected and potentially costly charges. Students will not be able to use their mobile phones during lessons.
  • What do my programme fees include?
    All program fees with Oxford English Camps cover the following Classes and instructional sessions Study files and educational materials Engaging lectures by academic speakers Personalized academic reports and a graduation certificate Accommodation at a prestigious university Daily meals in the college dining hall throughout your programme Complimentary WiFi (availability subject to conditions) Diverse afternoon and evening activities Excursions by coach (please note that excursions may vary, ranging from local attractions to more distant sites) Welcoming and graduation events Various extras, such as an Oxford English Camps notebook and branded clothing
  • How do I book a place on my chosen summer school and low-season programme?
    Once you have decided which programme you would like to attend, and where you would like to study, you can book online using our secure booking system. You will need the details of the student and of the person paying the bill, the name of the programme or programmes you would like to study, and a credit or debit card to pay the enrolment fee. We are happy to accept enrolment fees via a number of other, non-card payment methods (including domestic and international bank transfer), thanks to our partnership with education payment specialists, Flywire. If you would prefer to pay your enrolment fee by bank transfer or another method, please contact our admission team who will be able to assist you. Once your application has been submitted, your enrolment fee has been received by us and your booking processed by our system or our team, you will be sent an email confirming your place. You will also receive a login to the Oxford English Camps portal, which you will use to provide us with important additional information about you as your time with us approaches.   • I want to attend one of your English Language Programmes. How will you know my level of English?
    All students registered to attend our English Language programmes will be required to take an English Language Placement Test, which will assess the relative abilities of each student. Students are then placed into ability groups based on the results of their assessment, and the material that they study is tailored to the level of the class. The English Language Placement Test takes approximately one hour, and is taken by students on or prior to arrival at their programme.
  • If I need to cancel my booking will I get my money back?
    Oxford English Camp's terms and conditions for refunds are as follows: Any cancellation must be received in writing and can only be made on the following terms: No refund of the enrolment fee will be made under any circumstances once the two-week cooling-off period has concluded; For cancellations before your programme start date, the remainder of the programme fees excluding the enrolment fee will be proportionally refunded as per the table below: Cancellations made after the commencement date of the programme will not receive any refund.   • Will I receive a Graduation Certificate?
    Certainly. All students will be granted an Oxford English Camps Graduation Certificate upon the successful conclusion of their selected program. The certificate will be conferred during a graduation ceremony held on the program's final evening. While the ceremony is generally exclusive to students, there may be instances where parents can attend upon request. To secure a spot, parents should contact the campus office well in advance, considering the limited seating and viewing facilities in the colleges.
  • How do I pay for my Programme?
    All registrations at Oxford English Camps necessitate an enrolment fee to confirm your booking. For the 2023 sessions, enrolment fees are outlined as follows: Summer Schools for ages 13-15 and 16-18 (University of Oxford) You have the option to either pay the full program fee upon booking or pay the enrolment fee and settle the remaining balance at a later date. The balance must be cleared no later than 90 days before the program's start date. If a student is booking less than 90 days before the start date, the program fees must be covered in full. Acknowledging the uncertainties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognize that additional flexibility may be necessary, and we are actively working to accommodate such situations. Please reach out to us if you have concerns about meeting the balance payment within the 90-day deadline. Enrolments submitted through our online application form will require a debit or credit card payment of at least the enrolment fee. If you prefer to pay your enrolment fee via Bank Transfer or another method, we are happy to assist with this. Please contact our Admissions team to make suitable arrangements. For balance payments on existing enrolments, we accept various methods, including domestic and international bank transfer, credit or debit card, as well as local payment options. Access the Oxford English Camps Portal, log in, and click on the ‘Pay Now’ button in your booking details to proceed.
  • What level of English is required to attend one of our programmes?
    Our English language requirements are as follows: B1 for EFL programmes C1 or IELTS level 6.5 or higher for all academic programmes Students who have studied at an English speaking school for two or more years are exempt from English requirements.
  • How secure are the campuses?
    Our programs are conducted in a safe and secure environment, with continuous supervision provided by dedicated campus staff available around the clock. Throughout the day, students are required to check in regularly, including during breakfast roll-call, morning classes, afternoon sessions for lessons, workshops, or activities, at dinner, and prior to the evening curfew. Every campus enforces a curfew for added security. To safeguard valuable belongings like passports, travel documents, and bank cards, each campus office is equipped with a secure safe where students can deposit such items. Residential staff members are present on all campuses and are accessible 24 hours a day, ensuring that students have reliable support and assistance whenever needed.
  • Will I have to share a room or facilities
    Most of our accommodation sites offer a mix of single, twin and dormitory-style bedrooms. Some campuses have en-suite bedrooms while others have bathroom facilities shared between a small group of same-sex students. Sharing your room with fellow students is a great way of getting to know people and making friends.
  • Are there laundry facilities on-site?
    All campuses have laundry facilities. Tokens can be purchased from the Oxford English Camp office.
  • Are boys and girls housed separately?
    Boys and girls at our establishment are thoughtfully assigned to separate residences, a deliberate decision designed to enhance the overall residential experience. This approach ensures that students have the opportunity to foster meaningful connections within their respective gender groups, creating a supportive and conducive environment for personal growth and camaraderie. The intentional separation into different houses is part of our commitment to providing an inclusive and comfortable living arrangement, promoting a sense of community and shared experiences among residents.
  • Do I need a Visa to travel to the UK?
    If your country is part of the EU or the European Economic Area you will not require a visa to enter the UK. It is always advisable to check with the relevant authorities for visa requirements. If you are travelling from outside the EU you will be required to complete a visa application. Oxford and English Camp are always happy to assist with this and Visa form is available upon request.
  • What kind of insurance do I need?

  • When should I arrive for my programme?
    The arrival day for all programs is consistently scheduled for Sundays. To determine your specific arrival date, please refer to the dates of your program. It is advisable to plan your arrival between 15:00 and 17:00 on the designated start date. We suggest arriving before 17:00, as a welcome reception for all new students is scheduled at this time. Upon arrival, you are required to register at your campus and complete the sign-in process. During this registration, you will receive essential program information along with your room keys.
  • What happens on the last day?
    Students are requested to check out of their rooms shortly after breakfast, and all rooms must be vacated by midday. If you've arranged an Oxford English Camps airport transfer, you would have received instructions on the procedure a few days prior. After breakfast, students are required to return their room keys and promptly collect their reports and graduation packs. Staff will be available throughout the day to assist with departures.
  • What happens on the first day?
    Students are advised to arrive on campus for program registration between 15:00 and 17:00. Between 17:00 and 18:00, a welcome reception will be held for all new students, providing an opportunity to meet the director and staff responsible for their well-being during their stay. Subsequently, students will proceed to dinner in college, followed by an Induction talk with the Programme Director. During this session, safety information will be outlined, and key program rules will be reiterated.
